Dumfries House Dog Show 2026 in support of Armed Forces Day
by the King's Foundation and Bravehound
We are delighted to announce that the much-loved Dumfries House Fun Dog Show will return on Sunday 19th July 2026, promising a lively day out for dog lovers, families and four-legged friends alike.
Running from 12pm alongside the Dumfries House Horse Show (from 10am), this popular event celebrates the unique personalities and talents of our canine companions in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Firm favourites such as “Best Puppy” and the ever-entertaining “Best Sausage Catcher” will once again feature, alongside opportunities to put your dog through their paces in our “Fastest Dog in a Straight Line” dash and a fun agility course.
In recognition of Armed Forces Day, this year’s show will also introduce a selection of special classes to honour service and spirit, including “Most Aerodynamic Ears”, “Best Salute” and “Still Game…Best Veteran (Over 8 Years Old)”. Alongside the ring, visitors can enjoy a fantastic selection of canine-inspired market stalls, as well as our popular Dumfries House Sunday Market, where you’ll find a variety of local produce, artisan crafts, gifts, food and drink, and much more.
For further details on timings and classes for the Horse Show, please visit the British Horse Society website.
Whether you are entering your dog or simply coming along to soak up the atmosphere, it’s set to be a fun-filled day for all.
Where: Holm Field at Dumfries House - enter to the left of the Maze.
When: Sunday 19th July - Horse Show from 10am - Dog Show from 12pm
Entries for Dog Show: £3 per class online / £4 on the day
All profits from ticket sales will go to the Pet Blood Bank UK, a charity that provides lifesaving blood products for dogs. Much like human blood donation, healthy dogs can donate blood, which is then supplied to veterinary practices across the country to help treat sick or injured pets in emergencies.
Come for the fun, stay for the cause – and don’t forget your four-legged friend!
